As Squarespace employees, we’re encouraged to explore creative ideas and build real projects in order to better understand what it’s like to be a customer.

This is one of my projects.

This is a small, on-demand operation. Every case is printed and shipped directly from our production partner; no warehouses, no excess stock, just made when you order. Each case costs about $20 to produce and ship. Whatever profit is left goes entirely to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. On top of that, Squarespace offers a matching gift program that matches employee donations dollar-for-dollar, up to a yearly cap. As long as that cap hasn't been reached, every dollar we donate becomes two.

Like a good recipe, this process will continue getting refined. Over time, I hope that means lower costs for you and even more to give back.

This project is close to my heart, but it’s also part of something bigger. I believe these kinds of projects can go beyond one person, one product, or even one company. The idea is simple: use the tools we have to make something sustainable that helps others… and make it last.
